WysLog is a Syslog server implementation designed for Windows environments. It packages syslogd together with Cygwin and a small set of supporting tools, providing a standalone Syslog solution for Windows systems.

syslogd is a core system service responsible for collecting and managing log messages generated by applications and system components. By running syslogd on Windows through Cygwin, WysLog enables Windows hosts to participate in standard Syslog-based logging workflows commonly used in Unix and Linux environments.

This approach makes WysLog particularly useful in mixed-platform infrastructures, where centralised logging relies on Syslog and Windows systems need to integrate seamlessly alongside Unix-based servers and network devices.
