Note: File Policy Enforcer has been discontinued and is no longer available for download or supported.

File Policy Enforcer allows administrators to define and enforce file usage policies on Windows systems. These policies help ensure that file resources are used according to predefined rules, supporting regulatory compliance and preventing issues such as disk exhaustion or uncontrolled file growth.

Policies can target specific directories or Active Directory containers, from which user home directories and email addresses can be derived. File selection criteria include file count, total size, and file extensions. Depending on the policy, violations can trigger warning notifications or automatic file removal.

The tool supports flexible scheduling, email notifications with templates and scan codes, wildcard-based file exclusions, and persistent state storage to allow scans to resume after interruptions. File Policy Enforcer runs as a Windows service and is configured through a simple, file-based configuration.
